Hi Ex is fun, I shall up load more when home but here is my fave shot for now!

Making and doing

I spent a good few hours making a wonderful pinafore dress and this is the timeline!

The pattern ironed and laid out to cut!

My daughters desk underneath is a bit covered in Graffti, but she has the only clear space in the house!

The cloth waiting to be ironed! with dripping hearts painted on the wall behind!

My pattern being cut out with the requisite cup of coffee sat in the middle, on a non pattern bit if you look!

Pieces pinnned out to cut!

took hours to do each bit but I wanted it right!

Putting the pieces together, think this was the seam up the skirt parts, loved the colours even as I made it :-)

The finished dress, I shall put up a better pic when I get one of me in it, at the momnet I am waiting for a meeting I need to go to, to wear it special!

Odd day

Odd sort of day,













haven't got my head round it yet.
bought some fab material last night and hope to make a nice pinafore with it for work, shy and quiet it isn't!

any way had a teacher dash out and get shipped to hospital, and I got the class!
had a nice stroll in the fresh air when 2 second years hit a fire alarm for fun and then listened to the loud discussion of it was him not me they sang to management!
I have to get my stuff for a meeting Wednesday and school is locked Monday and Tuesday, also have poorly car and it doesn't get done until Tuesday!
have to get gift for daughter to give BF and take home a sweet pea for the evening!
(looks round in puzzlement) I forgot to ring Thurso for my daughter off sick and haven't got any food in the house...
as I said odd day! But the material is fab!

New things for a New Year

Well I have been up to odd things and none of them yet mentioned much here, I have been following twitter and wanted to see how it was before commenting, and I can honestly say I love it! I miss it when I am off but that makes when I am on more relevant. I have seen things happen through twitter that doesn't appear in news for a hour or more which is odd, seeing breaking news you already knew! Also is allowing me to keep in contact with friends and make new ones :-) strange but fun. Also keeps me up to date for my fave yarn shop and I have been buying more :-( just shhhh don't tell Tom ;-)



Also have been drawn into the world of Bliphoto and set up my own account again over optimistic and this is only a few days old but I do hope to keep it up to date, it has been fun so far but I did upload too late one day and it turned up as the next days blip! shan't do that again, but must go for wander with camera at lunch and after work, just to see!



Also have been grazeing and what a fab idea, one day a week I get a lunch sent to me! it is easy and cheap and so far bar one late delivery hasn't been a big problem (famous last words! I hope not)BTW if you want your first or trial one free enter this code D9FVC1Z.



Also am trying pinterest, but as this hasn't yet sent me a log in details I shall have to report another day :-)

You can see the shelves with no top shelf are sorted the others are to be done yet!

Getting back to Blogging

Here I am again, I am not sure if it is a distraction activity or just feeling settled but I felt the need for more blog :-)

I bought a new hook and am back, I shall take pics of it finished when I get a chance!

Oh I did finish some nice ones at christmas,

I got some yarn from Ripplescrafts and made a hat from some ola yarn, and this is it done! The pattern is from woollywormhead :-)

I think it looks fab! was supposed to me my one ball christmas gift but I knitted too slowly and wanted to keep it!

I also made some slippers but havent photoed them yet!

I found on cafepress you can get things made for you so I ordered a travel mug with 'librarian the original search engine' It was such a success I then ordered a bag which is amazing, bad week for ordering as I also ordered a book of knitting angels to make for the next craft day in november, and an order for a Graze box! which is just being daft but I cant wait!

ups and downs, Life normal!

I was successful in adopting the Timespan Museum in Helmsdale this week and have a plan of action for the next month or so that is doable, I have had some good meetings and learnt loads of new things in the last week or so. All in all it has been a fab week.

Some friends have been off walking and I so wanted to go, but they go during the week which works for them and I work... never mind I can go at weekends and may take daughter some time or son, either one... can't see Tom happy walking tough, not his thing, he does like sailing so it works. They did a walk from Tain to Dornoch, bus form here to Tain then walk to Dornoch via the sea side and then bus back from Dornoch. I am green with envy, and stuffed with cold so may be it was just as well I couldn't go.

I am still working on my weather scarf, and planning, I am keeping a note of the weather and will knit up the start as soon as I have decided the colours, not happy with choices yet! but at one row a day it shouldn't take me long to catch up!

I have lost my crochet hook as I walked in form the car this morning! I hate that I shall go and have a look later, Tom did go then but didn't find it! Grrrr

Just had my own look and its gone!

I heard yesterday that a friend of mine I knew was ill and wouldn't be getting better has died. She was my age and had 3 young kids! life isn't fair at times, my thoughts are with her friends and family.

So my world is full of ups and downs, I must remember this when it seems very down and to enjoy when its up :-) though unlike when i was a child and you were up or down, life comes in mixed now, I can be up and down! Being an adult isn't always fun but being in nominal charge of my own life compensates for the worst.

I have just taken some new pictures of my library, hope you like them :-)

new year, new energy

I have spent a good holidays with my mum and am now ready for the new year, I know its the 18th but I haven't got my head round being in 2012 yet.
I have a new school line manager, new challenges, new projects (with some old still going) and hopefully I am still moving forwards. I am finding new limits to my work remits but I know how to deal with that, spent a few days worrying and then passed a problem to the person who needed to make the choice and happier now.
I am reading 'And still I rise' by Doreen Lawrence, I realise that I am only 6 years older than Stephen and he died when I was carrying Traylan! hes been dead longer than he lived, and his family are still broken, but while this is sad, it also is a sign of strength and of change. Hope comes in odd forms and odd places...
I am also signed up to do book binding, basket making, jumper to jumper and writers groups on the new castlehill workshops for this year. so plans to get my own world more fun, as well as plans to get to see my people I manage more often. I have so many plans I need to keep a diary for my self (forget work) and am wondering if I took on too much again, but if I have I shall have to let some drop. I wont worry now about what may happen and if it happens I shall deal with it. I can only do so much :-) and I plan to have fun doing it.
Having so much fun on twitter @bibliosuk and like how it runs, I plan to post this up on it when I am done :-D.
I started a scarf today, I don't have the time and have other things on the go but I so wanted to do ti and so I did, I wont force myself to wait for no reason... It may stave off some of my more fanciful projects.
I will be picking up the end of CPD23 as not finishing because I shall miss it is just daft, but not this week, next week I shall try it ;-)
